Level 1

Foundation

QEP Model - Level 1

  • Describes who the company is, where it's going, what it values, and how employees act and treat one another.

The Foundation drives people performance at the most fundamental level. When working well, it creates a context for all decisions and behaviors. The Foundation Level consists of four segments:

  • Mission:
    A company's core purpose, its passion, the reason a company exists from the perspectives of its customers or stakeholders; the unique role it plays in the market and the value it provides its customers.
  • Vision:
    A company's ideal future, what the company is striving to become or achieve.
  • Values:
    The principles, standards, and qualities a company stands for and holds dear.
  • Culture:
    A set of shared attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors that characterizes a 'corporate society.'
