QuintEssential Performance™ Architecture

The QuintEssential Performance™ Model makes sense out of people performance. The model is a five-level visual representation of 18 variables that must be aligned to achieve superior people performance for individuals, teams, departments, and organizations.

Level 3

Communications Membrane™

  • A permeable membrane that facilitates the flow of information back and forth
between the organization and the individual.

QEP Model - Level 3

The Communications Membrane links individuals and their needs and expectations to the organization and its needs and expectations. If you would like your managers and employees talking about things that really matter and sharing ownership for the employee’s performance, the Communications Membrane must be open and functioning well.

The Communications Membrane consists of five interrelated components.

  • Shared Expectations:
An agreement reached among all parties defining the desired outcomes, what each party expects of the others and the rewards and consequences that will occur for specific behaviors or outcomes.
  • Vision of Success:
Describes what something will look like when it's working right.
  • Measures/Scorecard:
Defines where the "bar is set," specifies when and how progress, success, and failure will be measured
  • Accountability:
The accomplishments or tasks each party will be held responsible for completing.
  • Goals:
What an individual or group is striving to achieve in the future.

The Performance Generator™ is an effective tool to open up the Communications Membrane™.
