QuintEssential Performance™ Architecture

The QuintEssential Performance™ Model makes sense out of people performance. The model is a five-level visual representation of 18 variables that must be aligned to achieve superior people performance for individuals, teams, departments, and organizations.

Level 4

Individual

QEP Model - Level 4

  • Describes the work-related attributes, knowledge, and skills each individual possesses.

Typically when individuals aren't meeting performance expectations, management limits its investigation to this level. That approach is shortsighted since breakdowns on preceding levels are often the root causes of performance problems.

The Individual Level consists of five segments.

  • Capabilities:
The inherent (inborn) intelligence and abilities needed to perform well in a position
  • Fit:
The alignment between an individual's personality/behavioral preferences and the major functions of a position.
  • Desire:
The interest in and commitment to doing a good job in a position.
  • Knowledge:
The command of the facts and information needed to perform well in a position.
  • Skills:
The consistent application of appropriate knowledge and judgment in all aspects of a position.

The Performance Generator™’s holistic approach focuses efforts on fixing problems, rather than wasting valuable time and resources trying to "fix" people. Click here to learn more or to take a tour of the Performance Generator™, the online tool that maximizes employee performance.
