What are the steps in the Performance Generator™ process?
The Performance Generator™ begins with a simple online questionnaire and ends with a mutually agreed-upon plan of action. Here are the steps participants follow:
- A manager and his/her direct report agree to use the Performance Generator™ to help them determine and address the obstacles that are interfering with the employee's work-related performance.
- Each member of the pair completes an online questionnaire (audit) consisting of 44 "yes-no" questions and supplies additional clarifying information as requested.
- After both people have completed their online audits independently, they are invited to sign onto the Performance Generator™ together to review one another's responses.
- The Performance Generator™ then serves as a virtual coach and helps them discuss and resolve discrepancies between their answers and identify breakdowns that need to be addressed.
- Throughout the process, the pair records the issues that are resolved and those that remain open.
- The Performance Generator™ creates a record of the resolved issues for future reference and a listing of the "open" items for further action.
- When all of the questions have been discussed, the pair is prompted to review the "open" items, prioritize them and establish an action plan for each of them to complete.
- If desired, the Performance Generator™ sends e-mail reminders to the participants to keep them on track in completing the actions they've committed to.

Subscriptions can be purchased online. Each subscription entitles one pair (a manager and his/her direct report) to complete an entire cycle of the Performance Generator™. Subscribers set the pace to suit their needs and can spread out their sessions over a 12-month period. Only one subscription is needed per pair to complete the Performance Generator™ process, regardless of the number of times the pair signs onto the program during a 12-month period.
